Root Canal Therapy

When a tooth becomes infected(abscessed) a decision has to be made: either remove the tooth or remove the nerve and keep the tooth. The treatment requires removal of all infected tissue by cleaning and filing of the canals using special files, then disinfecting the interior of the tooth. Once that is done, the entire canal is filled with a biocompatible rubber like material, sealing it. At Kingston Creekside Dental, depending on the difficulty of the root canal, Dr. Tessier will decide if he will do the treatment or refer to an Endodontist (root canal specialist) for treatment.
